Star Spangle Banner
Star Spangle Banner

Can you believe this banner was just plain wood in the craft section at Hobby Lobby? I knew that it could be so cute and it was only $5.99! Take a look at a few supplies.

First step is to use Waverly antique wax. I use a baby wipe to put on and wipe off. It will give it a wood stain look without the smell of stain. Listed above are the colors that I used for the stars. Waverly chalk paint in snow white, Apple Barrel paint in red apple and Folk Art ink spot.

These are the colors I had so use what you have. I did not even wait till the wax was dry before I painted. Next paint your stars.

Before I added my ribbon, I took a sanding block or just used a piece of 180 grain sandpaper and distress the stars. For an added tip: take a baby wipe and remove any excess dust and it will also brighten the paint back up a little.
Next, take three ribbons and cut about 10-12 inches and then tie between each star.
The finally step is make a bow and attach to each end.
I have included a facebook video as well with all the steps.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope that you try this!
