Rebuilding & Restoring- You

Are you someone who loves seeing something that is tattered and worn become something restored and beautiful?
When I am restoring an item, upon close examination there will be areas that tell a story of its use and purpose. Evidence of timeless moments that oftentimes reveals cracks and stress lines that somehow only reflects its strength and perseverance.
Restoration is a process that requires time. Items become worn over time, not overnight. Upon gently removing the dirt and grime, along with refining those stress lines, it becomes apparent of the beauty that was always within.
This is exactly how God restores us! There are numerous examples in the bible of restoration, tearing down, remodeling, and even those difficult times of complete destruction, rebuilding and even delay. If you are like me, life can be an example of not only restoration but sometimes a complete construction zone.
Do you feel tattered and worn from this life and in need of restoring, rebuilding or renewing of your spirit? There is Hope! Romans 15:13
God will enhance those cracked areas of your life to remind you of your strength and determination. He will remove the dirt and grime and bring out your inner beauty. He will restore you! He will use your story to encourage, he will use your cracks to be a testimony and the removal of your dirt and grime to show His forgiveness.
The enemy of your soul would have you stay worn and tattered. It is time to rebuild God’s temple… You! 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 states that you are God’s temple.
One perfect example in the bible of rebuilding is found in Haggai. Haggai was the first of the prophets to speak to the people of Israel after the Babylonian captivity. In Haggai 1:4 states “Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin? This scripture references this house as being God’s physical temple in Jerusalem. The temple had stood unfinished for over eighteen years until Haggai began the rebuilding process. The people of Israel were too busy building their own houses, businesses and lives that they left the temple unfinished.
Is your temple unfinished or need of repair? God is ready to begin the rebuilding process of your temple? There is no doubt that the enemy will try and keep you busy while your foundation begins to deteriorate.
One of my favorite scriptures that God used to begin a restoration process in me after a devastation of loss is found in Psalms 51:12 KJV ” Restore unto me thy joy of your salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit.” This scripture was a beacon of hope to me in a very dark time. My family had sustained a detrimental loss of two of our family members in a house fire and four months later I lost my Dad to cancer.
My world was in ruins. My temple became in desperate need of restoring. I allowed the enemy to deepen the cracks of the pain in my life and use my loss as his gain. I allowed him to begin tearing down my very foundation. I will be the first to say, I am still in the restoration process and it requires not only a daily surrender on my part but it also requires time, perseverance and God’s grace.
If you are in need of restoration, God is ready and waiting. Don’t delay. He is ready to begin a good work in you. Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
God’s promise of restoration in Jeremiah 30:17 says ” I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord”
If you don’t know Christ and would like to accept Him, He will meet you right where you are. Romans 10:9-10 states “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him for the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Sinners Prayer- Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Amen
Blessings and Restoration,
Vicki
