Winter Wonderland Christmas Wreath Idea

There is something about nature that stirs my soul so when I seen this sweet owl in Hobby Lobby, I knew that I had to bring him home.
I wasn’t real sure what I was going to do with him but look at his sweet face and 50% off, well you know he went straight in the cart.

I decided that the little owl needed a home and I found this amazing lighted wreath at Wal-mart for $8.99. I just love the different kinds of pines in this wreath which makes it look so full.

Look at these winter picks from Hobby Lobby, a perfect match to create a home for that little winter owl. Remember you can use these same techniques for any wreath.
Choose the picks that speak to you. I know that sounds crazy but when you see the ones, then go with your gut! Make it yours.

I used about seven picks to create this wreath. I just love all the different textures of these picks.

I do not hot glue on the first placement that way the pick can be easily moved around if you choose.
I wanted to have the owl as the focal point in the wreath, so I placed the picks only on one side.
Begin by inserting one pick down into the wreath. The next pick insert up into the wreath. Continue this process until you create a little pocket in the middle or in this case a nest, this will also create a full look. Once you like the desired placement then begin hot gluing each pick in place.
HOW CUTE DID THIS COME OUT? It is super easy and takes just a little practice. Remember don’t hot glue the picks until you like the desired placement.
This little owl seems very content in his new home.
I hope that you enjoyed this and make sure you follow along for more DIY’s, Vintage Finds, Restored pieces and may you always find “Restoration of Heart and Home”.
